How to get there

Innsbruck has its own airport as well as railway connection. It is situated 500 km to the west of Vienna and lies on the axis Berlin – Munich – Verona – Rome. The distance to Munich is 150 km, to
Munich airport 200 km, to Verona 250 km, to Rome 600 km.

Conference Hotel Grauer Bär

The conference takes place in Hotel Grauer Bär, which is conveniently located in the center of Innsbruck, near the historic Old Town and opposite to the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Theology which is the oldest part of the University of Innsbruck. The hotel is well equipped with conference facilities. Computer and internet facilities will be provided in the hotel.

About Innsbruck

Innsbruck (population 119,249) is the capital city of the federal state of Tyrol in western Austria. It is located in the Inn Valley at the junction with the Wipptal (Sill River), which provides access to the Brenner Pass, some 30 kilometers (19 mi) south of Innsbruck. Located in the broad valley between high mountains, the Nordkette (Hafelekar, 2,334 meters (7,657 ft)) in the north, Patscherkofel (2,246 meters (7,369 ft)) and Serles (2,718 meters (8,917 ft)) in the south, it is an internationally renowned winter sports centre, and hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics and the 1984 and 1988 Winter Paralympics. Innsbruck offers a large variety of mountain sports facilities (hiking tracks, cable cars, and even summer skiing on glaciers near Innsbruck). There are also a lot of cultural options, especially the Innsbruck Dance Summer (contemporary dance theatre) and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music and the Ambras Castle Concerts (medieval and renaissance music as well as baroque operas of top international quality).
