3 – 6 July Ghent, Belgium

Programme overview

The symposium will take place from 3 to 6 July. It consists of four full days, so we advise to travel on the 2nd and the 7th. If you are looking for a day by day programme, or would like to know the contributions per session, then you have come to the right place. Allow us to first explain the general idea though, as it is slightly different from what you may be used to.

General idea

The main building blocks of the programme are eight sessions, each of which is split into a plenary session and a discussion session. Following the ISIPTA tradition, every paper () and poster abstract () is first presented in a plenary session. But, in order to stimulate and intensify personal interaction, these plenary talks are brief and will not be followed by questions from the audience. Questions should be reserved for the ensuing discussion session, where the authors of the presented contributions will be available to discuss their contributions at greater length, with the help of their poster or a flipchart.

Each day starts with such a (plenary and discussion) session, and then continues with an Update@ISIPTA talk by a former SIPTA president. After lunch, we continue with another (plenary and discussion) session, followed by a keynote talk. Coffee will be served before the morning session, and during (and at) each of the discussion sessions. On the last day, there is no keynote talk; we then end with a closing & award ceremony. There is also an opening ceremony on Wednesday, a SIPTA General Meeting on Friday, and various social activities.
